20.04 – Updating Ubuntu Studio 20.4.2 LTS – Best Practices – Should I start with a fresh Image?

I’ve been having some trouble updating Ubuntu Studio since I installed it, so I’m wondering if I should start from scratch. Before doing so, I would like to know a few things:

-How does Livepatch work? (I am relatively uninformed on patching things, so I don’t know if it’s something I should delve into) By which I mean, could live patch solve the following (or something else short of reinstalling completely) >

Typically when I boot up my computer, a message shows that Ubuntu experienced an internal error, but I’ve never been able to pinpoint what this error is. Here is an image of the prompt.

This is a perennial problem for me. The updates in any system seem to be the bane of my computing existence. I’ve never run a checksum when installing a fresh system, so maybe if there is anything to explain to me, it’s how to successfully do that. But I can look that up if need be. Anyhow, the question remains, Should I be re-installing Ubuntu Studio 20.04.2 completely?
