Our household has several UNrooted Motorola Droid Turbo 2 phones with Android 7.0 Nougat, Verizon Wireless phone service, and similar sets of installed apps. All of the phones have eventually exhibited this problem: after several hours of working normally, the phone no longer rings.
The problem can be temporarily resolved by restarting the phone, but within a few hours, it’s back again. This phone can’t be automatically rebooted with Tasker, only shut down, eliminating that as a possible work-around.
None of us use Do Not Disturb mode. Volume settings are normal, the phone vibrates, but it doesn’t ring. I’ve googled ad nauseum looking for solutions but haven’t found any.
Sometimes also YouTube videos don’t have any sound, and that is also resolved temporarily with a reboot, but I’m not sure that is related, as I sometimes discover the media volume is low.
We have two additional apps for dealing with missed calls and harrassing calls: YouMail and an old version of Should I Answer, but neither is set as the default phone app and I’ve been through their settings over and over again.
Anyone have any ideas? It seems to be happening more over time, and I’m wondering if it could be related to battery level.
Also wonder if phone overheating can cause this, it certainly causes other weird effects.
