I play with a level 10 Barbarian (Path of the Storm Herald) and I have the chance to multi-class my character with a Paladin or Cleric. I think the Paladin class features would fit my character better, so if I decide to multi-class I would go with the Paladin option. I’ve never created a multi-classed character before and I’m curious how this would work. If I decide to multi-class, would this normally go into effect in the next leveling up (level 11)? Would I skip the level 11 Barbarian feature and opt in for the level 1 Paladin features? Or would I be taking the level 11 features for the Paladin? Any guidance for understanding how multi-classing works for an established character would be greatly appreciated.
