My laptop came with both an SSD and an HDD. The SSD was connected through a PCI port, and the HDD was connected through a SATA port. After a while, it started crashing every few minutes to a BSOD, and the Event Viewer showed a lot of disk errors. So I replaced the HDD with a new SSD. In less than a week that new SSD failed and the computer wouldn’t work until I removed it. Now I just have the original PCI SSD and nothing on the SATA port, and the computer has apparently stopped crashing. If I put the original HDD back in, it crashes again. Any suggestions for getting a more certain diagnosis or fixing this so I can use the SATA port for additional storage again?
