There are two questions here about the limit of liquids in carry-on luggage and the legality of travelling with codeine.
I would like to travel to Nice, France at the end of the year. I would like to take two bottles of a codeine cough syrup with me. I know that there is a 100ml/3.4 oz limit in place on liquids in carry-on luggage but I heard that medicines are exempt from this. Would this cough syrup qualify as a medicine? Keep in mind, that it’s OTC and I don’t need a prescription.
The other issue is that I know codeine is considered a prescription-only or even controlled substances in some countries. Would I have any issues bringing it to France?
