How can I make Windows’ dead keys behave like Ubuntu’s dead keys so that when I press a char twice and it prints one char instead of two?

I’m a native Spanish speaker, but I work in English. I use the US keyboard layout with international dead keys to make use of accents and other symbols.

Ubuntu and Windows behave differently when using accents, quotes, and others.

  • Ubuntu: I press the " button twice, I get ".
  • Windows: I press the " button twice, I get "".

How can I configure Windows’s keyboard so that it behaves like Ubuntu’s?
