Internal storage – Reclaim the space used by a uninstalled app

I recently uninstalled economist,
According to the settings -> AppsIt took about 530 MB of data (from the internal memory).
After uninstalling, this space was not released.

Is there a way to recover this space without installing a utility app?
I have seen Clean Master mentioned several times. I'm not sure who of those who mention it actually tried it successfully; and it seems to be pretty annoying.

I can not root the phone.

Relatives, but no answer:

How can I reclaim space used by the default e-mail client?
(I have reinstalled The economistto see if the settings -> Apps again reported the same occupied space so I could delete data from there; but not, it only shows 15 MB of data).
