Is redirecting the homepage to a keyword-targeting page helpful for SEO?

My website is pretty new, for example example.com. I need to tweak the homepage (example.com) for a keyword. to eat healthy food.

If the homepage is redirected to example.com/healthy-food, this would be useful in terms of SEO, since the URL contains a keyword that the page is targeted for.

The problem with adding an additional redirect is that adding 300 ms of additional latency when accessing the homepage will help me avoid it.

I do not want to put the same content on example.com and example.com/healthy-food because duplicate content will be flagged.

Please advise.
