Stars are organized into galaxies, galaxies are organized into galaxy filaments – if you look at the pictures, you’ll see the structure. Due to the filaments, it’s hard to make precise statements about the distribution. Besides stars and galaxies, there is also the cosmic microwave background (CMB). The statistical structure of the CMB is highly studied, in the search for inhomogenaties and large scale structures, which might reveal the shape of the universe and/or other hypothetical structures (e.g. Penrose’s hypothesized “Hawking points”).
