First, my setup:
Modem goes to a switch. That switch goes into 4 different rooms. One of those is my room. In my room, I have only one ethernet coming in from the modem so I use a second switch to split to laptop, PC, and console.
Now, the problem. This happens literally everyday:
I spend the day on my work laptop. From 9am to around 7pm, whatever. At 7pm when I sleep or shutdown my laptop, the entire network immediately goes down. To bring it back, I simply start up my laptop and just leave it in standby/hibernate mode (on a Mac — basically just leaves all programs on but turns off screen). The network immediately comes back when my laptop is turned on again.
I’ve researched this online and it’s extremely confusing as to why this is happening.
What I’ve tried so far:
I’ve replaced both switches. No luck.
Any ideas on what could be causing this problem or how to fix it?
