Algorithms – Wikipedia search / hack – at every position by key 1.31 long, the fastest way?

A C-coder here.

My desire is to find the best way to search for words and phrases within the ever-growing XML dump of English Wikipedia. In a first step, the answer is "hashing", yes?
The problem is that the latest dump is about 72 GB in size. Would appreciate more experienced programmers sharing their vision on the subject.

As an amateur, it's an old dream of mine to have the ability to automatically complete (have a predictor) any latin (1.31-byte) part within a given text. This would help enormously if you have to check immediately if the entered English text appears in a particular corpus. Still far from the finish.

Since speed is the most requested property (after the scatter, which is up to 32-bit hash tables that fit into memory), I've increased the granularity / order of FNV-1A from 1 octet to 8 octets, d. H. QWORD – the result – FNV1A_Pippip, the Y-axis are the hashes / s:

My benchmark, called Look-up-er-rama, allows such dumps for keys up to 31 bytes, EZ. The most common use case, however, is (3..9), when I use z. Stallone but tap Staloune – The goal is a super-fast and super-dispersed function that can search millions of such queries per second. Is there a better way to do such searches?

I checked all 64+ GB of English Wikipedia with a fuzzy finder and found that the correct spelling of & # 39; Sylvester Stallone & # 39; was misspelled four times – which calls for a …
