charging – What is the approximate battery discharge rate of Google Pixel 3XL phones when turned off?

I am considering purchasing a new Google Pixel 3XL Android phone, primarily for photography. I don’t believe those phones have been manufactured for 2-3 years, so I am concerned about the battery health. If the phone has been sitting in a box for 2 years with 0% charge, my understanding is that it’s likely the battery will not function well.

For this reason, I’m wondering: What is the approximate battery discharge rate of Google Pixel 3XL Android phones when turned off?

(Also, if anyone happens to know how approximately much battery charge was present when the phones were placed in their box, that will be helpful.)

Cant restore a Pixel 3XL backup on Google Drive to set up a new Samsung S21 Ultra

I got a new Samsung S21 Ultra to replace my Pixel 3XL. My Pixel was backed up by Google, and I can see it in Google Drive’s backups, but all I can do with the backup (from Google Drive) is delete it. The S21 settings (Accounts and Backup) are only allowing me to backup the S21 to my google account, but I can’t restore the Pixel backup on my S21. I have managed to restore my WhatsApp conversations and media, and my contacts, but I can’t restore the apps I had or get my SMS conversations back. Any thoughts on how to do that?

Need help connecting a Pixel 3xl on Android 11 to a Sony ax5000

Wondering if anyone has any troubleshooting tips for my problem. I have a pixel 3 XL that is running up to date android auto and Android.

When attempting to connect my pixel 3xl to my Sony ax5000 head unit, my phone doesn’t seem to recognize that it is connected to an android auto cable. I’m fairly confident everything is fine with the head unit and cable, as my wife’s phone (a Samsung) and other devices are able to detect and connect to the device without problem using the same and other cables. Because nothing is ever prompted, I don’t have any more ideas on how to troubleshoot this issue. Do you have any suggestions?

I went to check the default USB configuration in the developer options and confirmed it is set to File Transfer / Android Auto. Are there other settings there (or anywhere else) I should check?

Thanks!

wi fi – WiFi Error: “Failed to connect to network” – Google Pixel 3xl, Android 11

My Google Pixel 3XL was working perfectly fine and now it refuses to connect to wifi. It just says “Failed to connect to network” whenever and however I try.

I’m not running a custom ROM.
I have not installed anything new since it was working – it was working fine and then it wasn’t
I haven’t physically damaged my phone, wifi seems to be the only thing effected, all other functions are normal as far as I can see

Here is everything I’ve tried:

I’ve checked that the wifi router works by testing it with other devices.
I’ve tried connecting to new SSIDs that the phone has never met before
I’ve tried conneting in safe mode
I’ve installed the latest updates to my phone and tried again

This old question suggests that I delete a wifi config file: WiFi Error: “Failed to connect to network” I cant access that file, probably because I’m not root. So that is probably not going to happen.

The next thing to try is a factory reset. But I really really want to avoid that.

Do any of you have anything else I can try?
