Air Travel – Fly your own plane from Nome AK US to Anadyr Russia

Or more specifically, what should you do? They flew their own Bonanza Beech from Nome, Alaska, to Anadyr, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Russia (on the eastern tip of the country). They claimed that they had the correct visa.

Here is the video in question. I got it to 7:53 p.m. where they start talking about what happened.

Anadyr is now on the southern shore of a bay. The airport is on the north side, and they are connected by a ferry: at 25:48, the narrator explains that if you cross the water to get to Anadyr, this requires a special permit. Does any of that make sense?

What really happened? And was it a minor injury, how they made it sound, or is it a serious injury that would affect future attempts to enter Russia?
