tools – Hacking Attempt Requests Not showing Up on Webserver Logs But Google Analytics Shows it

Which hacking tool makes a request and does not show up on web-server logs?

/en/latest/ has been requested over 116, we don’t have this URL on the website at all!

The request to that URL does not show up on web-server logs but I setup google analytics to track ad-blockers by loading the script on a different URL that ad-blockers don’t know . But ever since i setup this google analytics it has trapped lots of hacking request on none existing URL?

How comes google analytics captures the request(The Hackers don’t actually know) and the request seems not reach the web-server because no logs are shown?

The thing is there is a deliberate request to none existing URL, that don’t show up on web-server logs, but my secrete google analytic scripts captures the URL

c# – learning .net core 3.1 – very first attempt at consuming API webservice

I’m brand new to .net core 3.1 – not a lot of oop experience period – I have 20 years software development experience using procedural languages on IBMi.
Been working through a tutorial to consume an API that I have created on my IBMi… I’m stuck…

Below is my HomeController…
What I’m able to do by running this code thus far…

1.) connects to my IBMi endpoint
2.) it does invoke the correct backend API pgm
3.) backend API pgm does indeed take json string from URI and process it like it should, and produces a json string response.

issues..
1.) ultimately i’d like to pass this json request string in the body and not the URI
2.) while everything is working with passing the json string in the URI, when the json string response is sent back, there is an issue processing that response. My guess is that it is expecting a json object back and not a string.
The error is…

JsonException: The JSON value could not be converted to System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable`1(coreiWS.Models.ProductKey). Path: $ | LineNumber: 0 | BytePositionInLine: 1.

and the code causing it is…

var responseStream = await response.Content.ReadAsStreamAsync();
            productKeys = await JsonSerializer.DeserializeAsync
                <IEnumerable<ProductKey>>(responseStream);

I would be extremely grateful for anyone that could help guide me in the right direction with getting this working.

the complete HomeController Code is…

public class HomeController : Controller
{

    // jhv - add this...
    private readonly IHttpClientFactory _clientFactory;
    public IEnumerable<ProductKey> productKeys { get; set; }
    public HomeController(IHttpClientFactory clientFactory)
    {
        _clientFactory = clientFactory;
    }

    // jhv - add this...
    public async Task<IActionResult> Index()
    {
        //var user = Authenticate().Result;

        //if (user == null)
            //return View();

        var request = new HttpRequestMessage(HttpMethod.Get,
            "http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/{"env":"xxx","command":"getTrialKey","payload":{"productCode":"MFT  102A08R EPCA 00007"}}");
        //request.Headers.Add("Authorization", "Bearer " + user.Token);

        request.Headers.Add("Authorization", "Basic xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx");

        //request.Headers.Add("text/plain", "{"env":"xxx","command":"getTrialKey","payload":{"productCode":"MFT  102A08R EPCA 00007"}}       rn");

        var client = _clientFactory.CreateClient();
        client.DefaultRequestHeaders.Accept.Add(
            new MediaTypeWithQualityHeaderValue("text/plain"));

        var response = await client.SendAsync(request);

        if(response.IsSuccessStatusCode)
        {
            var responseStream = await response.Content.ReadAsStreamAsync();
            productKeys = await JsonSerializer.DeserializeAsync
                <IEnumerable<ProductKey>>(responseStream);
        }
        else
        {
            productKeys = new List<ProductKey>();
        }

        return View(productKeys);

phishing – Is this a malware attack or a phising attempt?

I recently got an email with an html attachment (as shown in the screenshot). I was unfortunatly dumb enough to open it directly from the e-mail client (thunderbird). Nothing showed up in the browser, so i was not able to type in any valid information. I was using firefox at that point and i am now wondering, if this is a phishing or malware attack.

After i opened the file, the email is not accessible in my e-mail client and was detected as “TROJAN:HTML/Phish!MSR” by the windows defender. I am currently running a full scan, but nothing was found yet.

I am hoping for some clearance, so i can take the appropriate steps.

color management – First attempt to use X-Rite ColorChecker… custom profile seems off by a mile

I purchased an X-Rite ColorChecker to attempt to get better white balance for my camera (a7R IV). My first attempt at using it has yielded wildly questionable results. Process below. All files referenced can be downloaded in the zip archive here.

1) Shoot image image.ARW
2) Use ACR to convert to image.DNG
3) Use X-Rite’s “ColorChecker Camera Calibration” to create profile Sony ILCE-7RM4.dcp from the DNG

Open original ARW or DNG in ACR. Change from default profile “Adobe Color” to the custom one I just created. Results… beyond horrible. See below (Adobe on left, new custom profile on right).

What am I doing wrong?

windows 10 – Box drive low privilege error- how to abort attempt?

I’m using box drive on Windows 10, and a folder is shared to me for read. I tried to upload a new copy of a file to the directory using file explorer, and got an insufficient priv error message. Now, every time I reboot, I get the same message. In file explorer, the file shows up with a red exclamation point on the icon.

I don’t want to delete the file from the directory. I just want to abort attempts to upload my version. Do I need to throw out my computer and get a new one 😉 ??

Differential equations – NDSolve for closed loop system with unit delay (attempt to compare with Simulink)

I am trying to reproduce a Simulink schema with a one-unit delay.

Enter the image description here

To do this, I use the NDSolve command with an additional equation that implements a unit delay loop.

The results do not match, and I associate this with a misunderstanding about how the unit delay and how to solve the algebraic and differential equations with the NDSolve command.

Correct the error.

Algebra precalculation – attempt to find a general equation for an ellipse given the focal points and the sum of the focal lengths

I'm trying to find an equation for the ellipse in the form $$ Ax ^ 2 + Bxy + Cy ^ 2 + Dx + Ey + F = 0 $$ given the focus $ (a, b) $ and $ (c, d) $ and the sum of the focal lengths $ r $. I started from the definition $$ sqrt {(x-a) ^ 2 + (y-b) ^ 2} + sqrt {(x-c) ^ 2 + (y-d) ^ 2} = r $$ squared both sides, moved non-radical terms to the right side and squared again and after streaking through a lot of algebra I came to the equation (easier reading of the coefficients below) $$ (r ^ 2 + (ac) ^ 2) x ^ 2 + 2 (ac) (bd) xy + (r ^ 2 + (bd) ^ 2) y ^ 2 + (r ^ 2 (a + c) – (ac) (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2-c ^ 2-d ^ 2)) x + (r ^ 2 (b + d) – (bd) (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2-c ^ 2- d ^ 2)) y + frac {1} {4} (r ^ 4 + 2r ^ 2 (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2 + c ^ 2 + d ^ 2) + (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2- c ^ 2-d ^ 2) ^ 2) = 0 $$ what I want to believe is close, but this doesn't produce graphics on Desmos. If someone has only one reference for the equation that I might consider and find my mistakes, it would be greatly appreciated. When I looked at Wikipedia, they talked about using the equation $$ frac {x ^ 2} {a ^ 2} + frac {y ^ 2} {b ^ 2} = 1 $$ and turning the major axis, but I have no idea how to translate these coefficients with respect to the focal points. My coefficients are for easier reading $$ A = r ^ 2 + (a-c) ^ 2 $$ $$ B = 2 (a-c) (b-d) $$ $$ C = r ^ 2 + (b-d) ^ 2 $$ $$ D = r ^ 2 (a + c) – (a-c) (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2-c ^ 2-d ^ 2) $$ $$ E = r ^ 2 (b + d) – (b-d) (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2-c ^ 2-d ^ 2) $$ $$ F = frac {1} {4} (r ^ 4 + 2r ^ 2 (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2 + c ^ 2 + d ^ 2) + (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2-c ^ 2 ) -d ^ 2) ^ 2) $$ If the mean term was F $ 2r ^ 2 (a ^ 2 + b ^ 2-c ^ 2-d ^ 2) $ I could take it into account, but because the left side (after the second round of quadrature) has none $ r $ Term there is no way to change like all other terms did. I'm sorry, I can't be more specific, but I didn't think it would be a good idea to type out the mountain of algebra that I did. Thanks in advance for your help!

Algorithm – typing one word per line (K&R 1-12 practice) attempt

I am currently trying to learn C from the K&R book, read through the exercises and try. I came across Exercise 1-12 yesterday and was a bit baffled, but managed to finish it. I was wondering if anyone would help me improve it and showed me how to test something like that.

#include

#define TRUE 1
#define FALSE 0

int main(){

    int c, previous_space;

    previous_space = FALSE;
    while ( (c = getchar()) != EOF ){
        if ( c == ' ' || c == 'n' || c == 't' ){
            if ( previous_space == FALSE ){
                putchar('n');
            }
            previous_space = TRUE;
        }
        else{
            putchar(c);
            previous_space = FALSE;
        }
    }
    return 0;
}
