transit – Denied boarding flight from Bangalore to SFO

Denied boarding at Bangalore airport for flight to SFO. Had the necessary covid negative report 48 hours before onboarding. They did send emails several times to make sure to have the Covid negative report if you are having a layover in frankfurt.

The customer care didn’t rebook the flight nor ready to issue a refund. But in turn, charging me the penalty for canceling the ticket. Denying someone to onboard the flight though have necessary documents ?. I had to pay 3 times the price of the ticket to book another flight all by myself. Customer care sucks. Called several times and asked the manager on call but each time customer care followed the same pattern. Place on hold for 15 mins and say the manager is in the meeting. Not ready to give a call back as well. This is absolute insanity. 3 times the money lost. My father who is 63 years old had to go through this hassle.
Please note: There were other passengers who were also denied onboarding at the time of check-in due to German travel restrictions. All I was asked to have a covid negative report to fly over frankfurt to SFO which I had.

esta – US citizen travelling with non-US citizen child who was denied boarding by KLM for our travel to USA

I am a US citizen residing in Berlin with my wife and child, who are both German citizens. We have traveled to the US before and have had zero issue with boarding and entry to the US.

This time my daughter and I would be travelling alone for an urgent family matter as my wife was unable to secure the necessary time off from work. We had the signed permission from my wife for us to travel to the US without her, my child’s birth certificate, her approved ESTA, valid German passport, negative PCR test results, and my wife even accompanied us to check-in at the KLM counter.

When we tried to check in for our boarding passes and luggage drop-off, the KLM agent scanned our passports and said that my daughter was not allowed to board a flight to the US without a valid ESTA.

We were a bit confused, as we had no indication that the ESTA was not approved, and even pulled up the website and demonstrated the approved status of her visa waiver. She called some unknown entity, rudely told us that only what it said on her screen mattered, and that there was nothing else to be done and please leave!

Of course this being a 6:30am flight meant that our check-in was at 4:30am which left us with no options for assistance from anybody we could call at that hour. Dejected and frustrated, I immediately emailed the US Embassy Berlin and awaited their response. Once agencies in the US became available, I contacted DHS and CBP as well.

The embassy responded with a series of automated responses, so I called their emergency line as well. They said there was no reason that she couldn’t enter the US as far as they knew but that we needed to speak with Homeland Security.

As there was no direct number to DHS, we eventually managed to speak to a Customs and Border Patrol agent who actually ran all of her docs and info and told us that her being denied boarding was strange since his screen showed that she was cleared for entry into the US. He said Regional Carrier Liaison Group is always available for airlines to speak to directly, and that they should have given a valid reason for why and where this decision to not let her board came from.

Since this incident, the Embassy gave us an emergency appointment to file her CRBA and issued her an emergency US passport to avoid any future mishaps with travel to the US.

All sources seem to indicate that this mistake with boarding happened on KLM’s side, who seem to have been ok with just giving us vouchers for the value of our flight even though re-booking with such short notice incurs loads of extra costs (flight, pcr tests, planned lodging, medical appointment cancellation/rescheduling, and just general mental anguish for our family both here and stateside) which we feel KLM should cover. At the very least we shouldn’t have to pay extra flight costs and PCR tests.

Do we have any right to compensation from the airline for these added costs, considering our situation?

From couple of days, I am trying to access Custom made SharePoint Online (Office 365) List for CRUD Operation with the help of Rest APIs Endpoints using Postman, but all the time I am getting “Access Denied” Response in body.

Hope you got my point. Please let me know for any further Issue clarification.

cron – getting access denied after programmatically update node field

I’m running a cron task with Elysia Cron that fetches some data from a remote API and updates a node. After the task run, the node returns Access Denied for anonymous users. If I open the node form and just click “save”, the access is granted again. Any ideas why this might be happening?

There are many of API requests, but they all follow the same structure, like bellow:

function country_hdi(){

ubuntu – My NTP Server have a permission denied over the statsdir directory

I am running a NTP server on an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. The server work fine and the client poll correctly the server. But i keep getting a permission error when i want to record statistics.

I tried to include the following lines in ntp.conf :

statistics rawstats
statsdir /var/log/ntpstats/
filegen rawstats file raw type day link enable

When looking at systemctl ntp status :

mars 05 09:08:48 RD-NTP ntpd[3534] : can't open /var/log/ntpstats/raw.20210305: Permission denied
mars 05 09:08:50 RD-NTP ntpd[3534] : can't open /var/log/ntpstats/raw.20210305: Permission denied
mars 05 09:08:52 RD-NTP ntpd[3534] : can't open /var/log/ntpstats/raw.20210305: Permission denied
mars 05 09:08:54 RD-NTP ntpd[3534] : can't open /var/log/ntpstats/raw.20210305: Permission denied

But for me, the directory have the correct permissions ls -al :

drwxr-xr-x 2 ntp ntp 4096 april 2 2020 .

Before choosing the default folder, i tried with one i created and adding ntp in the permission using this command : chmod ntp:ntp /home/ubuntu/ntpstats/, it wasnt working so i switched to this one, not working either.

Do you know why ntpd keep getting error even if ntp have the upper hand on the folder ?

security – Contained User on View – Select permission denied on object ‘table1’, database ‘Database1’, schema ‘test’

As an example, I have a database called ‘Database1’ on Azure SQL Server 12.0.2000.8
I needed to setup an account that could only access a view in the database (eg. View1).
This was achieved by the following:

CREATE USER (testuser) WITH PASSWORD 'P@ssword1!'
GRANT SELECT ON (dbo).(View1) to (testuser)

This worked perfectly. I was able to connect to the Database and only see the view and not the related tables.

My colleagues then utilized this method to create additional user accounts with read access to other views.

Recently the user accounts have been unable to access the views with the following error msg.

“Select permission denied on object ‘table1’, database ‘Database1’, schema ‘test'”

I have checked that there is no deny permission against the accounts.
If I grant select on the specified table (table1), the issue is resolved, however this enables the user account to view the table contents which I would like to avoid.

Any assistance in troubleshooting this would be appreciated.
