redhat – How do I enable access to the BaseOS repository from my control host to my managed hosts on ansible?

I’m training for my RHCE 8 EXAM, and I have to:

Create a playbook with the name setupreposerver.yaml to set up the control host as a repository host. Make sure this host meets the following requirements, which must be done by the playbook:

a. The RHEL 8 installation ISO is loop-mounted on the directory /var/ftp/repo.

b. The firewalld service is disabled.

c. The vsftpd service is started as well as enabled, and it allows anonymous user access to the /var/ftp/repo directory.

Then, create a Bash script that configures the managed servers as repository clients to the repository server that you set up in the previous tasks. This script must use ad hoc commands and perform the following tasks:

a. Disable any currently existing repository.

b. Enable access to the BaseOS repository on

c. Enable access to the AppStream repository on

I have tried many things, but I can’t enable access to BaseOS and AppStream from my managed nodes. After I mount /dev/sr0 I can’t execute the createcrepo command <— client side repo setup playbook <— client side repo setup playbook error <— server side repo setup playbook <— server side repo setup playbook part2

I need access to BaseOS and AppStream because later I will need to download packages into my managed node using my control node repo through ftp.

I have tried just putting the rpms files straight into /var/ftp/repo and then setting up the repo client with and it works, I can download the package.

But I want to access the rpm packages inside BaseOS and AppStream, and I can’t find a solution. I tried copying all the rpms to another directory, then unmounting, and then moving the backed up rpms back into /var/ftp/repo but then it wouldn’t be the right way.

Can someone help me find a solution. Thanks

My server side playbook executes with no errors by the way.

excel – How te enable changes

I have written an excel application that reads and write to 3 different workbooks.
Although these workbooks are set to read only, there was no problem. Because when i opened these i got a message box asking to open it read only.
I just had to click no

Now these workbooks are moved to sharepoint and there my troubles began.

The question to open it read only is not in a message box, but on the workbook itself.
And when navigating to it the button doesn’t react.

So is stays in read only mode

macbook pro – Cannot enable FileVault (options greyed out) on macOS Catalina Clean install

I just did a clean install off off my MacBook Pro by dd’ing the hard drive, and then installing macOS Catalina from a bootable USB. I formatted the internal ssd using apple filesystem and installed successfully. Now, when trying to enable FileVault via System Preferences>Security & Privacy>FileVault>Turn on FileVault, I get a pop up with both the “Set up my iCloud account to reset my password” and “Create a recovery key and do not use my iCloud account” options greyed out. The “Back” and “Continue” buttons are also greyed out. The only button that is not greyed out is the “Cancel” button. So essentially, I can not enable FileVault via the system preferences pane. See screenshot below.

What in the world is happening, and how do I fix this so that I can enable fileVault via the system preferences pane again?

How to enable media settings in drupal 8 media module?

I used Media module in drupal 8.9.5. It doesn’t allow any customizations (eg. increase/decrease playback speed, change video quality, move 10 secs backward or forward). I want a Video player for drupal that can play my local videos and has all the above options available.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

boot – Stuck on loading screen with Nvidia 455 drivers after trying to enable Prime sync

initially everything worked “fine”. I had screen tearing. In an attempt to fix the screen tearing I searched online and found a solution (the first solution) in which I had to run this in a terminal:

xrandr --output eDP-1-1 --set "PRIME Synchronization" 1

I tried it and it did not fix my screen tearing. I also suspect this command to somehow prevent my computer to boot normally when using any Nvidia drivers. What happens is that after the initial splash screen and the rotating animation (I’m on Ubuntu 20.04), the animation just stops and the screen stays stuck on my computer’s logo with the “Ubuntu” text under it.

I tried booting in recovery mode and running

sudo apt-get purge nvidia*

which did work. The only problem with it is that it only uses my computers integrated graphics and not Mx150 (which is better). Then as soon as I reinstall any nvidia drivers and set the prime profile to something else than “Intel (Power saving mode)” the problems comes back.

As you might have already guessed, I’m not an advanced Ubuntu user, but my guess is that this command affected a config file which I would need to change in order to fix the problem ?

Otherwise, what can I do to fix Nvidia’s drivers anyway ?

So my question is : How do I fix this mess ?

Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

How to enable remote shutdown confirmation on Windows 10 RDP host?

When shutting down a remote Windows computer via RDP, some RDP hosts will prompt the user to confirm they want to shutdown the remote host computer.

Is there a way to enable this feature on Windows 10 Pro 20H2?

For example, when remotely shutting down a Windows 2008 R2 Server, a confirmation dialog pops up saying:

If you shut down this remote computer, no one can use it until someone at the remote location manually restarts it.

i.e. Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Shutdown Confirmation Dialog

The solution to Implement a Shutdown Confirmation? prompts on every shutdown, is there a way (e.g. using gpedit, secpol or registry) to only prompt for confirmation on remote shutdown?
