My end-goal is to do the following:
- At varying intervals, change values for many data objects in the background, such as prices, resources, demand, supply, etc.
- Display those values in a flat table/list (as they change) in world space to the player, e.g. on a TV screen (or a transparent panel hovering above it, etc.)
- Have the ability to apply that layout (and its bindings) to another world space object of a different size, e.g. on a smaller or wider TV screen
Imagine an office with 15 desks, all with 3 monitors showing the same data feeds and changing statistics, except the monitors were all different shapes and sizes. How could you avoid building all 45 monitor layouts individually, and binding to each field separately? So my question is:
What is the “right” way to build a re-usable UI (ideally with UXML/USS), display it in world space, and have the ability to update the text in that layout?
I thought that UI Builder + UXML/USS would be the answer, but I am having trouble parsing how my end goal would be accomplished using that (or if that is even an appropriate use case for UI Builder). Fields that are displayed using UIDocuments are not exposed in the Hierarchy, and can’t be dragged onto a script’s input in the Inspector, for example. I’m able to project a UXML/USS layout onto a texture => material => object, but I’m not sure how to bind to the fields within the layout:
The screenshot above is my latest attempt, a POC of a live timer (on the right) manually being updated (using a TextMeshPro field, works great), and the yellow panel to the left is a UXML/USS layout pasted onto a texture/material that’s applied to a panel (in a canvas). On the far left is that same layout being used as a HUD, just to confirm it works the same as the floating panel. In-game, this data will not be part of the HUD, it will only be in world space. As a POC, I have been trying unsuccessfully to get the timer value from the gray panel to bind to the “should be time” text in the UXML.
So, should I just bite the bullet and build each layout by hand using game objects (such as in the gray panel)? Or am I halfway there with the UXML and just misunderstanding how UIDocuments work? Or is there a new smarter way of doing this I haven’t heard of yet? Not looking for a full code example or anything, just a push in the right direction.

In WordPress after placing a order for some reason when I am logged in the layout appears like this and when I am not the download button and billing address is not showing up.

How can I ensure the Download button and billing address appears for both logged and non logged in users?
I guess it has something to do with order-downloads.php or order-details.php files in Woocommerce templates but not sure what exactly and would appreciate the help to ensure the same layout appears on both ends or to bypass the WordPress restrictions

I’m currently working on a modal in app, that can be display in full screen.
I’m having some issue about the way to close this modal.
In the first situation, we can have a “Fermer” (close) button as main button where we can have a custom button if it’s set in the backo.
Second situation is only a small “Fermer” at the top right corner like on the onboarding.
The third situation is a combinaison of both with small button + “Fermer” main button.
And finally, to not have a repetition of “Fermer”, we can put a small button + a different main button “Continuer” (continue). But wouldn’t it confuse the user who might think that it will continue on the content of the modal?
Tell me which option seems the best! Thanks!
If there is no further content that can be accessed from within this modal, I would suggest placing your button at the bottom of the screen. Users will naturally look to return to what they were doing previously and the biggest target you can provide is a button in a logical location.
Perhaps changing the copy of the button to something more casual, like “Okay, got it” or “Okay, thanks” will help to imply that there is nothing more to see in a friendly way.
Consider a floating Close button that is anchored to the top right. This is a standard place where users expect to find a modal Close button. By making the button float, you won’t force the user to scroll up or down to close. And, that gives you space to anchor a more action-oriented primary button to the bottom of the screen. Be sure to make the button easy to find and distinct from the other elements on the page.
I would like to use the hierarchical layout in yEd. However, when running the algorithm to layout the nodes, it is selecting the wrong node to place at the top. Is it possible to control which node is placed at the top and then let the algorithm position the remainder of the nodes?

I was viewing calendar layout. With reference to the screenshot shown below – What is the UX thought process on having the gap after ?
I’m using the US International keyboard layout to be able to write letters with accents. Everything works fine but for a reason I don’t understand, Chrome doesn’t seem to like the Alt+C combination that should display a ‘ç’.
Every other key works. I can also display the ‘ç’ in every other program including Safari but on Chrome nor on Firefox (the shortcut works fine in MS Word, Safari, TextEdit, VSCode, …
Any idea on what to look for here? I didn’t see anything on the Chrome settings but maybe I’m wrong…

We are facing a issue with the Cross Sell products layout in shopping cart page.
The product items that are rendered are not loading in proper HTML structure and resulting the items layout to beak.
The product Items are rendered from the below file path, and the same will load in PDP page as well. But in PDP page it loads perfectly fine. Only in cart part we are facing this issue.
We have custom theme but to confirm we switched to Luma and Blank theme. Even in Magento default theme we are facing this issue.
