webapp rec – Can you have a virtual US phone number while living overseas?

I’m currently staying in South Korea, and won’t be back to US until next year. And one technical inconvenience is that I can’t receive text messages from my bank or credit card company. They allow only US phone numbers linked to my account. And there are times I need to call in for them to verify my ID (which can be done hassle-free if I am able to receive a text message). But international toll free numbers are not really toll free, and sometimes I have to wait over 10 minutes on the line to be put through. So I was just wondering if I can get a US virtual phone number that could only be used to send and receive text messages. If I am asking a question in the wrong forum, I am sorry. And in that case, I’d appreciate it if you could tell me where I should ask this question.

Adults living at home are babies. | Forum Promotion

I was out of my parents house at 18 and haven’t had to move back in thankfully. But I do understand the money aspect of renting or buying apartments. Which is why I ‘purchased’ instead of ‘renting’ my second apartment. With the market the way it is now, even if I did want to move? Selling my apartment and using the proceeds to go elsewhere would be a huge risk. New environment, new neighbors, new surroundings. If it doesn’t work out or I end up hating the area – I can’t just move back because I would have sold the place to a new owner.

I do think people who still live with their parents have good reasons for doing so but that’s their business. I am not one to judge. I am however very fascinated to know the stats of people 18 to 35 who live alone versus who live with a roommate. It seems most adults have moved out of their parents house at some point. But how many of those are able to afford to pay rent by themselves? Without a roommate. This is the real situation for many people out there. Once that roommate decides to leave or not pay their share of the rent anymore, you lose the apartment. Then it’s back home with the only people who’ll have you, your parents.

uk – Does a moroccan living in france need a visa for a stopover at london stansted airport?

I would like to have clarification on the following case. A person of Moroccan nationality with a residence permit (private and family life) who travels by plane to France but has a stopover in London, more precisely at the airport of stansted . The stopover lasts less than 4 hours. The question is whether this person would need a visa. If so, which one?

On this link https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y/morocco/transit/somewhere_else/yes , there are indications on this case but it is not clear. I have the impression that the visa is not mandatory but I would like to have your opinion.

customs and immigration – Declaring items purchased while living abroad, but shipped from US, upon return

My wife and I have been living in Canada for 4 months on a work permit. We’ll be returning to the US soon, where we are both citizens. The general guidance is that anything we purchased abroad, we need to declare, which we will.

But, we have several items that we shipped from the US to Canada for our use while in Canada – a few articles of clothing, vitamins, that sort of thing. These items are made in the US, and shipped from the US. Do we need to declare these, since we are technically bringing them back into the country?

I assume for items made in the US and purchased in Canada, the usual rules apply (we need to declare theses)?

Thanks!

dnd 5e – Can a living shadow be dissipated with light?

Nothing happens.

The living shadow is not a creature. It doesn’t have hit points or an armor class, and most importantly, it always persists and there are no end conditions listed in its description:

The shadow you cast is animate and ever-present, even when lighting conditions would otherwise prevent it.

There isn’t much else to say here, there is just nothing in the gift description that gives any indication that firing a crossbow bolt at it, enchanted or otherwise, will do anything.
