plugins – Hiding Tutor LMS lesson names for anonymous users

I am using Tutor LMS with Elementor. I want to partially hide the lesson names for anonymous users. For example: Topic names would be visible, first 2 or 3 lesson names would also be visible but any lessons after that would be displayed as ‘hidden’ or ‘locked’ or ‘disclosed after enrolling’, etc. Is there any plugin for this?

digital signature – Why are LMS and XMSS no candidates in the Post-Quantum Cryptography Standardization process?

Why are Leighton-Micali Signature Scheme (LMS) and eXtended Merkle Signature Scheme (XMSS) no candidates in the NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography Standardization process?
Both are mentioned in the final draft of Recommendation for Stateful Hash-Based Signature Schemes.

I was expecting that both algorithms are candidates in the standardization process as well, but it seems that they weren’t even submitted. Can anyone explain why? If they are not considered as candidates for a new standard why does the Recommendation for Stateful Hash-Based Signature Schemes exist and mention exactly those two algorithms?

Is the recommendation just a temporary standard until the standardization process is finished?

website design – I want to keep an LMS homepage redesign focussed, my boss wants to add extra supplemental information for SOE reasons. How can I navigate this?

We are targetting teachers and the goal is to get them up to speed using our products. My homepage design’s main goal is to drive registrations while signposting out to the learning resources available (courses, videos, blog posts, events, etc.).

From my research, teachers want to be directed quickly to the useful information, and see browsing around lists of courses and videos, events, etc on a homepage as unnecessarily complicated and usually not relevant. I would prefer the homepage to link to other dedicated /courses, /videos, and /events pages because once there, we can presume they want to view this particular content type and we can show more relevant information.

My boss is of the mind that as long as we capture the CTA and signpost out to these pages above the fold, we are free to add long lists of courses, videos, testimonials, social proofs underneath, and even if no one scrolls down and clicks, Google’s bot will crawl all of this and it will help our rankings.

Where do you stand in general with my position? I think my boss has a point somewhat, but I am sick of sites trying to add all this extra crap to a page, which the targetted persona doesn’t need.

plugins – Tutor LMS problem with Paid Memberships Pro

I am trying to Integrate Tutor LMS with Paid Memberships Pro. In Tutor LMS Content Settings, I am using option of full website membership. But problem is when a student becomes a member he still can not access the course.Course shows the message “You must have a membership plan to enrol in this course.” I have confirmed that membership is successfully activated but student still can not enroll the course.

Development using Next.js + LMS Queries

So I wanted to create an LMS (Learning Management System) website that can teach students certain topics and give quizzes. Additionally, I wanted to provide them with an in-browser OS to practice. I have a few questions about these –

  1. I’m using Next.js to create the app, is that the best way forward? Since I’m running into problems implementing the sign-in features using next-auth.
  2. Where do these LMS websites store their data, like the course content? Is it in a JSON server?
  3. Any ideas on how to implement the in-browser OS? I was wondering how sites like Webminal do it.

Making a LMS (Learning Management System) in WordPress?

I am planning to launch a product centered around a LMS (currently planning with the basic features). I read a lot and it seems it is better to use plugins or some open source LMS rather than starting from scratch. But since I am planning this from the perspective of a product (may be a business?) does it make sense to use WordPress plugins for the same or some open source LMS such as sakai or Moodle ?
Thanks

LMS Software Development 2020

I’ve got a client using Moodle and it’s their hosted version is a bit of a dog, I’m told there are better systems out there.

A lot will depend on what you’re trying to teach and how interactive it needs to be.

I was looking at a course on udacity over the weekend. I got to a spot where I had to answer a question about progress in setting up software on my computer. My answer was deliberately wrong and I didn’t get any points on things to check, steps to resolve problems etc.

Other systems may need to be checking code, or allowing students to upload essays, answer quizzes, etc

If your subject matter is stable, your students distributed, you may find elearning is a flexible (but not necessarily cheap) way to get information out there.

plugins – How should I proceed with a corporate website w/ members ares, search and LMS?

I recently began working a job where I am basically the digital janitor. They throw all sorts of tasks at me, to which I do my best. I was recently tasked with helping them create a new website. Their previous website was a simple SPA on a self-hosted WordPress. They are struggling even with providing me a basic requirements specification. 🙂 One thing is obvious though… they need more than an SPA this time.

I have no previous WordPress experience… I have played around with Joomla though and I’m an intermediate web designer, so the task of keeping the backend doesn’t scare me. I also enjoy learning.

They need:

  1. members area
  2. search functionality
  3. course gallery/product area

1st point: I was searching here on the site for previous questions and found this… I will be checking out memberpress, but would also like to hear about alternatives.

2nd point: I see many themes with the front-end search field, but I wonder if those come prepackaged with a search plugin? Which plugin do you recommend?

3rd point: I imagine they might need something akin to a Learning Management System (LMS) or an e-commerce setup of sorts. This part is less important, as I might code it from scratch. From what I gather, they are overcomplicating things and simply need a product library/showcase of some e-learning presentations (a product of theirs).

Basically, I am hoping for tips regarding the best WordPress plugins to help me achieve the basic functionality. I very much could use recommendations regarding premium themes that are already made to support the easy integration of said plugins.

Alternatively, feel free to point me in direction of another backend solution 🙂

I hope I made myself somewhat clear.
