msi – Windows installer package throwing error when I try running it from file server

Right now I am trying to use PDQ deploy to push out an update (20.2.40) for a software called Bluebeam, if you haven’t heard of it, it’s essentially a PDF editor.

I have also tried running this MSI installer without PDQ, when I run it on my computer from my C drive it works perfect and opens up a prompt to start the installation but when I run it from our shared server it throws me an error saying, “This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.”

When I try pushing it to my computer through PDQ I use this command ->

This command comes from a built in part of the bluebeam software called the “configuration editor” and is used to create and edit commands for deployments. When the command is finished running on my computer, PDQ tells me that my computer return an error code 1620 and that it failed.

Why am I getting this error only when I try to run this installer from my shared server? I have tried re-downloading the MSI package but that didn’t help. I thought that maybe after I downloaded it that when I copied the files onto my server it might have dropped data making the MSI corrupt and that’s why I was getting the error; however, all the files in the MSI package on my server are the same size as those on my C drive.

drivers – No speaker sound, Ubuntu 20.04 on a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II motherboard

I installed the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS on my PC, finally decided to not use Windows anymore! 🙂
Anyhow, everything works just fine except one thing. I am not able to get any sound at all from the built in soundcard on my motherboard. I’m using the MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II MB that looks like it’s a Realtek® ALC892/ALC897 Codec support. Unsure of what chip it actually is. I have looked at other articles but have not been able to resolve it. Any clues? Below are some dumps, but I am too much of a noob to know what to do.

suspend – Error when suspending MSI 65 Stealth, Ubuntu 21.04

When I suspend my laptop and turn it back on it looses wireless connectivity and its unable to recognized my external monitor,

When I reboot the computer the wireless connection goes back on but to get the monitor working I have to go the bios and enable and disable the secure boot for it to start working,

any ideas why this problem might be showing up?

windows 10 – Microphone permanently disabled on MSI Prestige 15

A friend of mine has a very specific problem. She muted her laptop with the built-in mute button on her laptop’s keyboard which has since broken. She is now using an external keyboard that has no such button. Is there a way to unmute the microphone? I’m thinking it is either some mute functionality already built into Windows, in which case, how does she access that functionality without the keyboard? Or it is a hardware thing, in which case, is there any way to unmute it?

magento2.4 – How to set source quantity (MSI) from my own custom backend module in Magento 2.4?

I’m new to M2, and I am in a hurry to migrate my site from M1. In M1 I made my own MSI functionality, but now I would like to use the built in MSI functionality in M2.
For some of the backend logic (like moving item stock from one source to another when needed), I have created my own module. The logic works, but I need to be able to update the quantity on a specific source.

I would like to know how to set new qty to a specific source for a specific sku in a custom module.

I’ve been at it for a week with no success. I have found answers to similar questions, but the answers are quote code, but do not say specifically where to put the code.

Seems like I should be able to use SourceItemsProcessor, but I don’t know the basics in M2 on how to set it up.

MSI and Shipping charges and Tax calculation Magento2 M2

Having query related to shipping charges when we use MSI.

For example :

We have configured MSI. For each product we are having multiple warehouse/source available.

Cart : 3 items in cart

  • Item 1 – available in ABC (California) ware house
  • Item 2 – available in ABC (California) ware house
  • Item 3 – available in PQR (Washington) ware house

Company registered in Alaska.

Query :

  1. How magento will calculate table rate shipping charges in this case because items are
    shipped from 2 different locations

  2. Normally how magento calculates shipping charges when used multi source inventory and some products in cart available from specific store and others are from different store.

  3. How magentp will calculate tax because in this case both items are having different origin for shipping.

api – Can I set MSI stock values using products REST endpoint?

We currently run Magento without MSI. The ERP sends stock updates via extension attributes on the (bulk) product endpoint. This enables us to do most product updates in on API call. Very convenient.

We are looking to implement MSI, but it seems it is not possible to set multiple source quantities as product extension attributes and we would need to start making two API calls (maybe more) to create a product and assign some stock….

We would like to continue to do a single API call to create/update product AND set the stock in MSI like so:

Because we use bulk endpoints, our current process is asynchronous, so knowing when a particular product is created and we can then set the stock is difficult.

Is there any way to do this rather than having to use the separate source-items endpoint?

MSI GV62 7RD LAPTOP WON’T TURN ON

So I placed my laptop on charge and came back to realize that it went off and power on at all. I realized the blue charging light turns on when I plug in my charger. However it doesn’t seem to power on when I press the power button. I tried removing the battery and powering on with just the charger but it still won’t turn. Any help here? I’m trying to figure out what the problem might be and a solution to it.

magento2 – How do we change the Default Stock or Default Source for Magento 2 MSI?

This is because MSI isn’t complete yet – there is functionality not yet migrated to it.

The default stock is hard coded because of that – backwards compatibility.

There are many extensions and even parts of Magento that still rely on “inventory 1.0” and so the default is hard coded so they don’t break.
My default stock mysteriously acquires amounts at times, positive and negative.

This in between status is painful but hey, it’s only for another year or so 😉

For example for bundles to work, products must be “in stock” in default stock (real stock or “in stock” status with “back order” on, because bundles aren’t MSI migrated yet. It’s really annoying, but hey, bundles are hard. (the good news are, when you ship it ships properly from your stock)

When MSI is at 100% coverage, we will be able to change who default is.
