The US Minor Outlying Islands (USMOI) are nine islands or groups thereof, of which eight are remote outposts in the Pacific without permanent residents (the other is in the Caribbean).
As a fan of remote places with visible human history, I am fascinated by these Pacific Islands. I know that once I get to one, the charm will probably fade in a little while, but you can dream.
What is the easiest legal way for me to visit each of these islands as I am a United States citizen? For the purposes of this question, I am ready and able to join the military, get a job at the fish and wildlife service, sail / fly on a private boat / plane, etc.
(Note: There are some similar questions on this site, but none specifically deals with the specifics of the USMOI.)
