9 – D9 : Poll module or Webform module ? Want to give correct answer to users one week after end of submissions

I want to create a simple poll/webform : one question every week with just one answer possible.
No problem to do that : webform module or poll module seem to be perfect.

Anyone know how to do that ? Which module should I use ?
Any tips to share ?

Thank you,

Poll: Have you enjoyed our recent Tutorials?

Over the past year we’ve enhanced our efforts towards publishing high quality tutorials for common and sometimes uncommon technical problems and projects. We’ve covered everything from security, to CentOS guides and even how to setup your own Media Server using Plex on a LowEndBox (or a home media server if you prefer local storage/service). In total we have published dozens of tutorials since early 2020, and if you haven’t read them yet we invite you to do so. Many of the tutorials published this past year have been written by LowEndTalk community members and moderators alike (special thanks to Raindog308).

As we head towards the end of the year we want to know how you think we’re doing when it comes to our tutorials. Suggestions are welcome and we look forward to reviewing the votes and reading your comments as we work to continuously improve LowEndBox and LowEndTalk.

Poll Results: Have You Been the Victim of a DDoS Attack?

Back on September 22, we asked you if you had ever been the victim of a DDoS attack.  These sorts of attacks are continuing to increase – by one report, by over 500% over the last year.

57% of those responding to our poll said that they had been victimized by this type of attack.  This is not surprising since LEB/LET readers are often using their VPSes for game servers (a huge magnet) and public-facing web services.

Of those who were attacked, about have said service was quickly restored or impact was minimal.  But for those who were significantly impacted, 53% of those had their service offline for a significant period of time.  20% had to purchase DDoS mitigation.  One in six respondents had their service terminated or had to change series, and one in twelve lost money because of the business impact.  3% had to pay network overage fees.

About 40% of respondents said their provider’s DDoS mitigation service stopped the attack, while another 23% used a third party (e.g., CloudFlare).  But nearly 1 in 6 had to move to a new provider.

Thanks everyone for participating!

Poll Results: Which of These Features Do You Look for When Selecting a Provider?

Back on September 14, we asked you what features you look for when selecting a VPS provider.

Those who’ve been around for a while remember the old days when every provider slapped SolusVM on a master node, slurped in some OpenVZ templates, and setup shop.  Today’s consumer expects more, and so we were curious which features really matter to customers.

131 votes later, the results are in!

Interestingly, the ability to upload a custom ISO was the #1 feature, closely followed by DDOS mitigation and snapshots.  I’m very partial to autorun scripts, because I like the ability to deploy a server and immediately have it setup and running the way I want, but possibly people are scratching that itch with Ansible and similar technologies.

We allowed people to pick up to 4 features, so there is some weighting here on what’s most important to customers.  Providers should take note about what matters to the community as they try to differentiate themselves from their competition.

Thanks everyone for participating!
