can you recommend a forum or community to share my product prototype business?

node.js – How prototype pollution works? Need simple explanation

interaction design – Can I use semi-structured interviews for collecting insights for a prototype?

I have a low-fidelity prototype and I would like to use semi-structured interviews to ask users questions while having a walkthrough of the prototype.
Do you think it’s a good idea to choose semi-structured interviews or should I rather go with structured interviews?

So currently I am in the phase where I have finished the first version of the prototype and tested it using heuristics evaluation, now I would like to gather more information from users so I can refine the user requirements and consequently the prototype.

Prototyping -> Heuristics evaluation -> Semi-structured interviews -> Refine requirements -> Re-design prototype

usability testing – How do you prototype systems that are normally connected to Active Directory or other complex external systems?

I am working on a product that has a quite typical setup when it comes to enterprise software: it is usually connected to the Active Directory of the origanization and authenticates its users against it and fetches their group membership information from it. The permissions within the products are assigned to the groups that come from AD. For tiny installations and in test scenarios it is possible to add local users and groups but in production usage it is almost always integrated with Active Directory.

We are planning on making some pretty significant changes in how permission settings can be made and the mockups for the changes tested well when local users & groups were used. We would now like to see if the interface works well in a more realistic scenario when the product is connected to AD and we have thousands of users and groups.

I was wondering on whether you have any experience or insight on how to do users tests in such a situation. Creating and maintaining a fake, internet-facing AD installation seems to be an overkill for this purpose and also cause problems during the test as well as it’d be impossible to connect the real AD with the wireframe we want to test. Creating a mock AD user management interface would also take tons of time and would probably still be quite far from how that UI works normally.

Do you have any experience with this or more generally speaking on doing wireframe tests of systems that are normally connected to large, complex external systems in production?

javascript – letting users create object themselves (prototype pollution)

Let’s say if there’s some object and an array

let a = [];
let b= {
"d":{"Admin":0},
"c": e // e is user controlled where user inputs get parsed via JSON.parse
}

a[f] = b // f is user controlled and it is achieved as a string

will the user be able to somehow change the object value in d using the parsed object of c?

And could there be a possible prototype pollution here?

Thank you.

Mvp Vs Poc Vs Prototype: Bringing Great Ideas To Life

Many companies struggle to decide whether creating a proof of concept (POC), prototype, minimum viable product, or a combination is the right way to approach mobile app development. Understanding and carrying out these three methods(mvp vs prototype vs poc) of mobile product validation properly can significantly improve the chances of winning investor buy-in and acquiring funding, reducing project costs, as well as establishing longevity in the mobile app market

javascript – Optimize “nearest” Element query prototype

if (Element.prototype.nearest === undefined) {
  const nearest = (el, selector) => {
    if (el == null) return undefined;
    const prev = el.previousElementSibling;
    if (prev?.matches(selector)) return prev;
    const next = el.nextElementSibling;
    if (next?.matches(selector)) return prev;
    const parent = el.parentElement;
    if (parent?.matches(selector)) return parent;
    const relative = parent.querySelector(selector);
    if (relative) return relative;
    return nearest(el.parentElement, selector);
  };
  Element.prototype.nearest = function(selector) {
    return nearest(this, selector);
  };
}

const handleClick = (e) => {
  const btn = e.target;
  console.log(btn.nearest('.child'));
  console.log(btn.nearest('.grand-parent'));
  console.log(btn.nearest('#child-1'));
}

document.querySelectorAll('.btn').forEach(btn =>
  btn.addEventListener('click', handleClick));
.parent {
  display: flex;
}
<div class="grand-parent">
  <div class="parent">
    <div class="child" id="child-1">
      <button class="btn">
        Click
      </button>
    </div>
    <div class="child" id="child-2">
      <button class="btn">
        Click
      </button>
    </div>
  </div>
</div>

Is a user policy or terms of use necessary when deploying a prototype application that is only to be used and tested by selected users?

I’m about to launched a prototype web application with user accounts.

This prototype is only for selected users who are given an access code to the application which is required to register as a user.

It is a budgeting Web Application where a user can enter their information to generate a budget.

Goal:I want to declare or inform users that the application does not require or ask for any bank statements, bank account login credentials, or payment of any kind from users to avoid being sued just in case the prototype is hacked or scammers try to contact users and ask for money on behalf of the application.
