docker – Xorg not starting in GKE with GPU : (EE) no screens found(EE)

I am trying to run Xorg server that use GPU inside Google Kubernetes Engine

  1. I followed this guide (https://cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine/docs/how-to/gpus#ubuntu) to setup a
GKE cluster with Nvidia Testla T4 GPU.
The nodes are with Ubuntu (Docker).

  2. Deployed the pod :

kind: Pod
metadata:
  name: my-gpu-pod
spec:
  containers:
  - name: my-gpu-container
    image: nvidia/cuda:10.0-runtime-ubuntu18.04
    command: ("/bin/bash", "-c", "--")
args: ("while true; do sleep 60000; done;")
    securityContext:
      privileged: true
    resources:
      limits:
       nvidia.com/gpu: 1
  1. Installed Nvidia drivers in the container, according to the instructions

I can verify that Nividea GPU is available in the container :

root@my-gpu-pod:/# nvidia-smi

Web tier not starting in Oracle Webcenter Portal

I have installed the Oracle Webcenter Portal on my Virtualbox and ran the /oracle/scripts/vmctl.sh script.

This is the output:

Database Listener Already RUNNING.
Database Already RUNNING.
.
Starting Web Tier [OHS] ...
..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The database seems to be running successfully but the Web Tier is already starting for more than half an hour! I am not getting any error of some kind.

Does somebody know how to solve this?

Starting freelancing from scratch | Proxies-free

Hello everyone,

Before I put my topic forward, here’s some context for you: I learnt web development and graphic design by talking to people on forums such as this one and the same people used to give me projects. It was in junior school years and I was happy making small bucks and learning new skills. Then I got into higher education and had no time left for this, so I left it and focussed on other career options.

Now-a-days, I find that I have few hours available to me for freelancing and I want to get back into the scene. But now that those contacts have moved on, I have no idea how to find paid work. But with no reviews on Fiverr or Guru or Upwork, it just seems impossible to get selected for anything. Would love to hear some recent success stories from the communities and general tips. (Like, I am building a personal website to showcase my talent. But that comes with it’s own caveats)

(Please note, I am not asking for that here, I am sure many people struggle with the same issue.)

homebrew – Problems starting vnstat installed with brew

After installing vnstat with homebrew:

brew install vnstat

and opening it, i got following error:

Error: Failed to open database "/usr/local/var/db/vnstat/vnstat.db" in read-only mode.
The vnStat daemon should have created the database when started.
Check that it is configured and running. See also "man vnstatd"

It seems, that the daemon is not running.

oracle – Given a set of SQL scripts, does there exist software that generates a dependency tree of SQL scripts starting with the root SQL script?

I have a about 100 *.sql scripts located in a directory (let’s say script1.sql, script2.sql, …., script100.sql).

Some of these scripts create tables, some create triggers, some create functions, etc..

Without manually looking through each of the 100 scripts, it is not immediately clear to me which script depends on other scripts.

Is there a software/program out there that, when given as input a directory of SQL scripts, can output a dependency tree, starting with the root SQL script?

finite automata – NFA designing for strings starting with $01$

The question was asked

Construct an NFA with set of all strings that start with $10$.

The solution provided to me is
enter image description here

But my question is what if the automaton receives an input $0$ at the starting? Also there is no option for $q_1$ to transit after receiving $1$. So I think the solution should be

enter image description here

Please correct me if I am wrong.

dnd 5e – Can a homebrew classes starting hit points be higher than it’s hit dice?

Homebrew doesn’t have rules

Even if every single class that already exists follows an exact pattern that’s never been broken, you don’t have to do the same thing.

There just aren’t any rules for this, you can make whatever you want, however fantastical, overpowered, or complicated as you like. It may differ from how the system usually works, and what you should be doing then is justifying that choice.

If you’re going to give a class a meager two additional hit points, I would hope there is a good reason. It’s a small change and one people are likely not to even notice given the way every single other class is structured. If this is a vitally important aspect of the homebrew, it should be emphasized in the text and the change should be made clear.

In all honesty, I see this type of change adding confusion and for very little gain (+2 HP is very little). That doesn’t mean you can’t do it anyway, you can do anything you want, but you should have justifications for when you depart from the usual format of the system.
