php – Add custom font to theme’s font ist

I added some custom font to my WordPress theme. I added CSS codes and the fonts perfectly worked, but only with the CSS reference codes and shortcodes, But I want these fonts show on the theme option’s font list, how can I add the fonts to the theme’s font list? so I can change the font without CSS codes..(Fonts are on my local, not google …)

posts – Hide Past Events from Displaying – AIT Themes Events & Events Pro Plugin

I am using AIT Themes City Guide and trying to configure the Events list to make sense. The theme plugin does not age out old events. I assumed this would be the bare minimum a plugin claiming to be an Event manager would offer. However, it seems I have to make this happen myself. Before you suggest it, the theme developer is not likely to be helpful. Despite having a full license, they have no plans to add this simple feature.

So, I would like to code this myself and the code would have universal benefits. Essentially, events in this theme are “formatted posts”. So, writing code to hide past events could be as simple as the code I found on this page:

How can I hide posts that are over 2 years old

Here is the code suggested:

add_action( 'pre_get_posts', 'filter_old_posts' );
function filter_old_posts($query){
    if( !is_admin() && $query->is_main_query()){
         add_filter('posts_where', $callback = function( $where = ''){
             $where .= " AND post_date > '" . date('Y-m-d', strtotime('-2 years')) . "'";
             return $where;
         });
         add_filter('getarchives_where', $callback );
    }
}

How can I modify the above to filter out posts older than the current date? How can I filter out just a single category?

Thank you!!

development strategy – Yet another child theme building question: Frankenchild themes

I’m about to build a new site based on a theme close to what I’m looking for. I understand the concepts around child theming & have read the caveats about overriding php or css files like the one described here.

Using such workarounds and calls from functions.php, is it possible to build a “Frankenchild theme” by taking chunks of a second (would-be parent) theme and patching them into the child theme? I’m not quite asking about creating a child of two parents; the child would only have one “official” parent.

As an example: Start with a Gantry basic theme and add custom taxonomy search capabilities & search results formatting (say a card-based carousel). Is that stepping over the line into plugin development?

themes – Menu separator appearing on next line

I am creating a new theme, but for some reason the menu isn’t displaying correctly. I want the separator to appear next to the menu items, but they are on the next line for some reason. This is what I am getting:

enter image description here

This is what I get when I inspect the element:

enter image description here

Here is the code to display the menu:

<nav class="navbar navbar-default navbar-eaglesnest">
    <?php
        wp_nav_menu(array(
            'theme_locatiion' => 'primary',
            'container' => FALSE,
            'menu_class' => 'nav navbar-nav',
            'after' => '<font size=5px color=white>|</font>',
        ));
    ?>
</nav>

And here’s the css:

.navbar-default {
    position: absolute;
    background-color: transparent;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 0px;
    top: 30px;
    right: 20px;
    z-index: 1;
    border: 0px;
}

.navbar-default ul, .navbar-default li {
    display: inline-block;
    list-style-type: none;
    list-style-image: none;
    padding: 0;
}

.navbar-default ul a {
    padding: 0 20px 0 20px;
    line-height: 50px;
    text-decoration: none;
    color: white !important;
    font-weight: bold;
    font-size: 18px;
}

.navbar-default ul a:hover {
    color: blue !important;
}

.navbar nav ul li.current-menu-item > a:link,
.navbar nav ul li.current-menu-item > a:visited,
.navbar nav ul li.current-page_ancester > a:link,
.navbar nav ul li.current-page_ancester > a:visited {
    text-decoration: underline !important;
}

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

themes – removing side space between para and container on generatepress?

You can always use the “Inspect Tool” in your browser to see the details of the object (structure and style). Though I checked your page and didn’t see anything wrong with it. As you can see in the list in the top of your picture, the last item has a few space.

Another point is in the beginning of the line, all words start in the same place and the left padding would be OK. But since all the words does not have the same length and they can be half-written in the end of the line, so the long words may be placed on the next line. This way some lines might be shorter and some lines might be longer and you think that there’s something wrong with the space ( As you can see in the “Power” paragraph and the last 3 lines ).
