I have an ever-growing database of products that users enter on my website themselves. The input form for users to submit their products (as part of a troubleshooter forum) is very fast to promote forum posts. So if products are defined, only type, make and model name are requested.
The result is that I have a large database of products that are not associated with the manufacturer's official UPC / SKU codes. I'd like to improve my site by using APIs that retrieve images for products, get prices, and so on, but everyone is calling for such codes.
Before I can continue with this plan, I clearly have to find a way to improve the quality of my data. Does anyone know of a way to update this old data through a service that can be referenced to the name of the strings?
